Sun Energy

When taking pictures, amongst fiddling with lamps and lighting, I find the sun is still and always the best source of lighting, especially when it starts going down.  That way, you get the best natural light and shadow.

Jewelry and Such: Online Boutique in the Process...

So I've finally got this whole online boutique underway, something I've always wanted to do for quite some time and now it's finally getting organized.  So far I now have 6 items up.  Simply posting these items is not quite as simple as some may think as it is a very detailed process especially for beginners like me. *lol* In doing this, I realize this does take time but it's coming up gradually, yet steadily.  Any constructive feedback is welcome:)

Blue Skies

Ok so here's my first painting I've done in quite a while,  continuing with mixed media:
"Blue Skies"
mixed media on canvas
This came from when I was walking to the store I thought the clouds looked unusual and so just having my iphone on hand I snapped shots of them.  They were just sitting there, pure, white and whispy and the silhouette of the houses made it even more intriguing to me...

Stanley Park: Nature and Scenery with a Camera

So today, Carl and I went for a long long walk.  We've undoubtedly walked several miles.  Got a work out for sure.  The fresh air, scenery, sunshine and exercise was totally worth it.  Especially with a camera:
"2 Ducks"

"Stand Alone"
Carl told me "Hey come here" and pointed out this frog.  This is about as close as I could get without disturbing this bathing beauty.
"Frog Bath"

Then we came across this lovely creature.  He was in scavenging mode.  Unfortunately we had nothing to feed him as we've already eaten all our trail mix, though I'm sure with his savvy instincts he must have found what he was looking for eventually.  Other than that I was so delighted to be given the opportunity to take these shots:)
"What's for Breakfast?"
I just love how he was giving me this stare as I crouched down to take a picture.  He was probably thinkin',"Hey!  Whatcha doing?" So cute. :)

"Lookin' Atcha"
Every time when I'm out and about on days like these when the sun is shining, I look for every opportunity to capture how the sun seems to make things glow especially from the right angle.  This is why I enjoy the macro function on my handy dandy lil' point-and-shoot Pentax.  I don't know the names of these flowers but they were so pretty I couldn't resist.

And these ones caught my attention because they reminded me of real miniature fox gloves.  To me they looked like purple caterpillars so I guess that's what I'll call them.
"Purple Caterpillars"
And of course how could I forget the fire weed?
"Fire Weed"
And let there be lotus flowers!  The white one just below, I couldn't help but to enhance it with my "glow" technique with Photoshop.  The two after are completely un-altered.

"White Lotus"

"Sea of Lotus"

"Pink Lotus Mirror Image"

Now here come the trees.  Tall. Ancient. Powerful.  Magnificent.....
"Stand Tall"
"Surrounded"

"Moss Covered Branches"

"Let Me Light Thy Way"

"Stand Taller"
"Trees on Vacation"
It's days like these which remind me I really should get out into nature more.  That's when I feel the most balanced...

Music

So anyway, going back to the "transitional period", everything changed and so I started to have a craving to do something different.  This was when I finally got a good computer (for it's time) and got connected to the internet and began tinkering with digital media.  My beloved also nourishes my creative thirsts through accompanying me with his knowledge in hi-tech digital media.  So here's where I started creating electronic music which I currently have at Reverbnation:

Creating music is like a drug to me.   It has always been in my soul even before I was born.  I know it sounds crazy but there's a reasonable explanation.  While my Mom was pregnant with me, she was still singing for a living and I guess I felt the vibes even back then.  My Dad is also a keyboard player and my dear Uncle Ray was a brilliant Jazz Trombonist and composer.  And funny enough, he was also an artist as well who taught me watercolour painting when I was 12.

Whenever I have time (which seems to be a re-occurring issue these days) I still tinker with creating sounds through a variety of different types of music making software.  Although it has been quite a while since I've posted any more tracks onto Reverbnation, the intention is still there to do so, sooner or later....

More Mobile Pics: July 1st 2011

"Old Lookin' Boat"
enhanced mobile pic

What a perfect start to the long weekend.  Slept in real late and then my beau and I went out and about, and celebrated Canada Day at the Paddlewheeler Pub in our old stomping grounds of New West.  So on our way back, I just took a few pics.  I love the laid back atmosphere at the New West Quay by the water.  I just feel at home here...

And every time I pass by this one building along Antique Alley, I can't help but to take a picture probably because it seems there's always something subtly different to see and the striking colour that is painted on the bricks is too intriguing to me.
